Haq Parast Member of the Provincial Assembly of Sindh Syed Manzar Imam was gunned down by armed terrorists near Nishan-i-Haider Chowk area of Orangi Town while he was going to his office. His driver and security guards Muhammad Imran S/O Muhammad Mukhtar, Muhammad Imran Khan S/O Muhammad Yasin and Sajid Ahmed S/O Jawed Ahmed were also killed on the spot by the firing of the indiscriminate firing of the terrorists.
Funeral Prayer of MPA Manzar Imam and his security guards will be held in Jinnah Ground, Azizabad on tomorrow after Friday prayers. Burial will be held in Shuhada Qabristan in Yasinabad.
Manzar Imam was 43 and he has left behind his widow, two children, two brothers, three sisters and his mother. He joined Unit 120 of the MQM Orangi Town Sector in 1986 and was considered a senior worker of the party. During his career in the MQM, he held several responsibilities, including the position of the Sector In-charge. He was elected to the Sindh Assembly from the provincial constituency PS – 95 Orangi Town in the 2008. He secured 81659 votes.
Members of the Co-ordination Committee of the MQM Raza Haroon, Wasay Jalil, Dr Sagheer Ahmed, and Saleem Tajik reached Abbasi Shaheed Hospital soon after hearing the tragic news. MQM ministers, MNAs, MPAs, workers and office-bearers of the Orangi Sector and a large number of MQM sympathizers were also present in the hospital. Touching scenes were witnessed at the hospital.
