Suspected Robber Injured, Arrested After Police Encounter in Orangi Town

 KARACHI: A suspected robber was injured and arrested during an alleged police encounter in Karachi’s Orangi Town area, while his accomplices managed to escape, police said on Tuesday.

According to police officials, the incident took place in Orangi Town Sector 6-E after authorities received information about the presence of suspicious individuals in the area. When a police team reached the location, the suspects allegedly opened fire on the officers.

Police retaliated, leading to an exchange of gunfire during which one of the suspected robbers was injured and taken into custody. The arrested suspect was identified as Aijaz.

The injured suspect was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medical treatment. Police said a 9mm pistol and other items were recovered from his possession.

Officials added that a search operation is underway in the surrounding area to apprehend the fleeing suspects, while further investigation into the incident is also in progress.
